Award Criteria

Awards in OXMUN are given to recognize exceptional performance, teamwork, and adherence to MUN protocols. Below are the criteria for each category:

1. Best Delegate

This award recognizes the top-performing delegate in each committee. Key evaluation points include:

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the topic.

  • Ability to propose innovative solutions and build consensus.

  • Strong decorum and adherence to the rules of procedure.

2. Outstanding Delegate

This award honors delegates who demonstrate exemplary skills and contributions throughout the simulation. Evaluation includes:

  • Active and meaningful participation in debates.

  • Consistent collaboration during unmoderated caucuses.

  • Significant input in resolution drafting.

  • Encouragement of teamwork within the committee.

3. Honorable Mention

Given to delegates who show consistent and commendable performance. Judged on:

  • Positive engagement and diplomacy.

  • Clear and impactful arguments.

  • Respectful behavior and adherence to MUN principles.

4. Best Chair

This award recognizes the most effective chair across all committees. Evaluation criteria include:

  • Professionalism and adherence to OXMUN rules of procedure.

  • Ability to manage and moderate debates efficiently.

  • Fair and unbiased treatment of all delegates.

  • Encouragement of participation and collaboration among delegates.

General Rules for Eligibility
  • Delegates must submit position papers by the deadline to be considered for awards. Your position paper will be closely evaluated, so be sure to follow the required format carefully.

  • Judges will assess delegates based on their performance across all sessions, focusing on leadership, active participation, and contributions to the committee’s outcomes.

By rewarding these criteria, OXMUN aims to inspire future leaders while fostering collaboration, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellence.
